Easy Bar®

Easy Bar® is a solid bar high-temperature lubricant that is inserted between the tire bore and kiln shell. As Easy Bar® melts the graphite and copper distributes precisely to the areas needed. Easy Bar® is an OEM Lubricant for Andritz and Metso Kilns Easy Bar® utilized by all major kiln manufacturers including Polysius, Humbolt Wedag, Metso, Andritz, FLSchmidt…

Easy Bar® Kiln Lube is a solid high-temperature lubricant bar that melts when placed on the hot surface of a kiln shell. Easy Bar®’s patented blend of mineral and metal lubricants are suspended in a solid polymer binder that melts at approximately 125° F or 52° C.

When placed between the tire bore and kiln shell, the binder begins to melt and releases the lubricants in Easy Bar®. The rolling action of the kiln distributes the lubricants precisely to the areas it is needed. Unique to Easy Bar® from other melting lube bars is its high-temperature auto ignition point. Easy Bar® will not ignite at temperatures less than 1,000° F or 538° C. Therefore it is safe for high temperature applications such as kilns.

Easy Bar® is your best solution to reduce the wear of the filler bar surface and the riding ring bore while also reducing the scoring of the stop blocks and riding ring. Filler bars are a vital component to Kiln Shell Life. Properly maintained and lubricated they allow the riding ring to float during thermal expansion during operating conditions. Excessive wear of the filler bars could cause high ovality conditions and possible misalignment of riding ring to kiln shell. Easy Bar®’s protective coating lengthens the life of the Filler Bars.

2. How does Easy Bar® work?

Easy Bar® employs principles of lubricity and physics to assure proper lubrication of kiln and dryer tires. First, it contains high quality, non-petroleum, synthetic lubricants. It also contains a fine metal powder that exploits the lubricating benefit of dissimilar metals. Once melted, uses the motion of the kiln to distribute its lubricants to the mating surfaces of the tire bore and kiln shell. As the lubricants are distributed by the motion of the kiln, a thin, temperature resistant film forms a lubricating barrier between the moving surfaces, as well as fills the microscopic imperfections that are typical on metal surfaces. 3. How many Easy Bar® should be used?

The recommended application rate for Easy Bar® is 4 bars per pier per week. Depending upon the operating condition of your kiln, more Easy Bar® may be required in its initial application. Back to FAQ’s.

4. How is Easy Bar® installed?

The recommended application rate for Easy Bar® is 4 bars per pier per week. Depending upon the operating condition of your kiln, more Easy Bar® may be required in its initial application. Back to FAQ’s.

5. What are the features and benefits of Easy Bar®?

Easy Bar use high quality, high temperature lubricants
Easy Bar reduces unscheduled maintenance and downtime by (1) extending the life of the filler bars (2) reducing the scoring of kiln tires stop blocks (3) reducing friction and wear (4) filling microscopic imperfections in contact surfaces
-Reduces energy costs.
Easy Bar does not auto-ignite at temperatures less than 1,000° F or 538° C so will not cause kiln fires.

Easy Bar® installs in a single kiln revolution
-Minimizes personnel exposure to hostile environment.

Easy Bar® does not contain chlorine, bromine or other halogens, which can be harmful and corrosive
Easy Bar is non-hazardous and can be handled by humans with no health risk
Easy Bar is not corrosive to metal surfaces. Back to FAQ’s.

6. Why do Maintenance Managers and Reliability Engineers depend on Easy Bar®?

Cost savings are realized immediately in extending replacement part life greater than 50% and higher while reducing maintenance costs. Filler Bars & Wear Pads last significantly longer.
Labor costs are lowered by reducing lubricant application time down to less than 1 minute a week for each tire.
Longer equipment life means savings to repair filler bar weld fractures and replacement of filler bars. Typically 16.000€ to 45.000€ per tire section.
Easy Bar prevents against ‘unscheduled downtime’ which ultimately can shut down a plant and halt production.
100% Lubricant for 100% Effectiveness! No flame-ups, no messy or sticky residues, no fillers, no waste.
Easily applied by hand or with an EZ-Reacher Pro applicator. Back to FAQ’s.
